UPN Gets "Fresh" With The Frog

So it looks like UPN will merge with the WB to create one super crap network: the CW.

In a bombshell announcement that caught television industry insiders by surprise Tuesday morning, The WB and UPN have cut a deal to join forces as a new single network dubbed The CW that will be comprised of programming and executive talent from both of its predecessors.

Yeah, here's the surprise: what the hell took so long?! Neither one has had a complete line-up that was worth a damn since their inception. UPN had Star Trek, Buffy, and Pro Wrestling and they still couldn't get people to watch. The WB has had some popular shows, but it seems like they couldn't even put together one night, a mere two hour block, that would make a competitor even mildly nervous.

Maybe "television insiders" were suprised because this becuase it's one of those "makes too much sense for someone to actually do", kinda lika a college playoff system.
